Tezos Foundation Council Personnel Update
The President of the Tezos Foundation Council is pleased to announce that Fleur Pellerin, former French Minister for SME, Innovation and the Digital Economy, has joined as a council member.
Fleur held several senior positions while in government including Minister for Culture and Communication. Since 2016 she has led Korelya Capital, a late stage venture capital fund with stakes in web3 infrastructure technology companies including Ledger, Bitfury, and Ramp. She attended her first council meeting on March 14.
We are honoured that Fleur has agreed to bring her deep expertise in the start-up and entrepreneurial economy to support the Tezos ecosystem.
“As I join the Tezos Foundation Council, I am both honoured and excited to contribute to an ecosystem that is at the forefront of blockchain innovation and governance. My journey in the digital and cultural sectors has equipped me with a unique perspective and set of skills that I believe will complement the Tezos Foundation’s mission to promote and support the Tezos protocol,” said Fleur Pellerin.
“This is a pivotal moment to drive sustainable growth and further decentralisation within the blockchain community. I look forward to collaborating with a team of distinguished professionals to foster a vibrant, decentralised ecosystem that will navigate the challenges ahead and seize the opportunities that blockchain technology presents,” Fleur said.
We are also saying thank you to members Anil Madhavapeddy and Alice Lloyd George who are stepping down after many years on the council.
Anil is starting a new role in environmental conservation and administrative barriers at his new employer prevent him from remaining on the board. Alice’s venture capital work no longer affords her enough time to be on the board.
“Tezos stands out as the one blockchain with a sustainable governance model built into its core. I joined the Tezos Foundation board back in 2020 when the Delphi protocol was activated, and since then there have been an incredible ten forkless upgrades that were deployed without a hitch,” said Professor Anil Madhavapeddy.
“These have seamlessly evolved the featureset, the capacity and the robustness of the Tezos chain, and the global Tezos community continues to innovate and experiment in art, gaming and sports. I’m looking forward to continuing to participate as a Tezos community member for years to come, and also to help hack on the OCaml and Rust code that backs the exciting new developments such as enshrined rollups that are coming up next,” Anil said.
Alice Lloyd George said, “It’s been an honour to serve on the Tezos council the past few years. Tezos has always been a uniquely powerful governance chain with a clear vision. I’m excited to continue watching and supporting new technical developments as well as the ecosystem as it grows and flourishes.”
The Tezos Foundation is extremely grateful for Anil and Alice’s commitment as well as the quality of their insights and contributions during the years of service and we hope to tap their expertise on the Tezos ecosystem going forward. We wish them both success in their next professional challenges.
