Weekly Updates

This week, the Bitcoin Association Switzerland (BAS) announced the launch of tzBTC, a token on the Tezos blockchain that is backed 1:1 by Bitcoin. tzBTC has been an extremely successful organic collaboration between a wide range of teams – many of whom are participating in the Tezos ecosystem for the first time.

We have already started incorporating a couple of really helpful pieces of feedback from the community and will continue to do so as it comes in.

We are monitoring the situation closely, particularly as it pertains to global asset deterioration, and we can assure you that the Foundation is well-prepared with sufficient funds to continue executing on its priorities despite the global downturn.

In case you missed it, Nomadic Labs hosted a Tezos developers day on March 6th following the EthCC conference. Over the course of the day, attendees heard a wide range of presentations from representatives of Nomadic Labs, SmartPy, SkillZ, and more. You can catch up on all the presentations here.

This week, Madrid-based IMDEA Software Institute highlighted its partnership with Nomadic Labs and the Tezos Foundation to contribute to the advancement of Tezos and blockchain technology in general. The collaboration between IMDEA and Nomadic Labs will focus on program analysis and verification for safety, distributed consensus, resource consumption and performance, and security and privacy.
